Advocacy: WAJE Launches ‘Waje Safe House’ Charity initiative for the Poor

This is a good charity initiative by Waje. She shared the message below of the launch of her charity initiative on facebook on indepednence day.

“Happy Independence day guys! Nigeria is 52 what do we have to be thankful for? There are a few things to be thankful for, I’m thankful to you all for your support and love, I have been overwhelmed at how much love you’ve shown me. We keep building!

Thanks for listening and downloading my music, I hear that we have hit 100,000 downloads for #OkoMi and #Iwish. Thanks and God bless

This year for the independence day, I’d like to introduce a project that is very dear to me- Its called Waje’s Safe House. Pls ff @WajesafeHouse

@WajeSafeHouse is our way of giving back to people less fortunate than I am, what we do is support organizations that are already helping out

Every quarter @WajeSafeHouse will partner with an NGO towards fundraising and awareness for their projects. The first project under @WajeSafeHouse is one very dear to me because it concerns some of the poorest and most cheerful kids you’ll ever meet.

Recently, I had the privilege to be at a children’s school in Makoko and I met an amazing young woman Doyinsola Ogunye of @MEDICNG. Now these children go to school in the worst conditions imaginable, there
are leaking roofs and floors, dark and unpainted walls, no chairs or tables, it’s actually worse than it sounds.

@MEDICNG currently runs #Projecthelp for the kids at Makoko towards raising infrastructure for them to study in a conducive environment.

Have you been to Makoko lately?Well I have and it isn’t the best place to live especially for a kid #ProjectHelp.

So, with @WajeSafeHouse I have decided to give my earnings on Ring Back Tones RBTs from #OkoMi and #Iwish for 2 wks towards this project.

So guys, I would need your help to get this done, and it would cost you only N50. Whether its Oko mi or I wish, the proceeds would be given towards.

With your help,@WajeSafeHouse will be giving funds towards tables &chairs, roofs, boards.
