BET Awards 2017: Mr. Eazi, Tekno, Wizkid & Davido vie for ‘Best International Act, Africa’

BET has had quite an interesting year in its programming department so far with the abrupt exit of its President Stephen Hill, the departure of EVP of Original Programming Zola Mashariki, and the follow-up lawsuit Mashariki has filed against BET, Viacom, and Stephen Hill. So, it will be very interesting to see what this year’s 2017 BET Awards looks like. I am also particularly interested in seeing whether this year, the BET Awards will honor African artists, on its live stage, given all six years prior, it has failed to do so. Will Wizkid and other African artists boycott the show short of a promise to honor them during the live segment of the show?

Below is the 2017 list of nominees for the BET Awards. Congrats to all nominees with Bruno Mars and Beyonce topping the list of nominees, and Nigeria’s Mr. Eazi, Tekno, and Davido vying for a ‘Best International Act,’ Africa.
