It was just recently Cos Canino of UDR Radio appeared on The Africa Music Law Show to talk the Business of Concert Promotions. During his appearance, we took on LIVE Nation and Efe Omoregbe’s flopped United Sounds of Africa (USA) Concert, a few years ago, that had IROKO’s Jason TV losing $90,000. Well what do you know? LIVE Nation representative must have listened to that podcast because now, they have inked a deal with Cos Canino’s Underdarock Concert Promotions arm and Big Moose Entertainment.
Congratulations to both African owned brands. This should be good for our artists here in the states and those from the continent visiting. In fact, as we speak, if you google “Wizkid LIVE Nation,” you can see some serious promotions of his upcoming concert. Details of which follow below.
As I continue to look at the music and entertainment landscape for Africans in the diaspora, I think there will be some really good business opportunities ahead for those interested in the entertainment industry as our artists and entertainments continue to push to go mainstream here.
