D’Banj Enlist the help of Idris Elba in New Music Video ‘Confidential’

D'Banj ConfidentialD’Banj enlisted the help of Idris Elba in his new music video titled ‘Confidential.’ The lyrics and delivery, in my view, seem inappropriate for a more mature artist non- R&B artist like D’Banj, and the sound and style he is known for. If it was a straight up party song, I think it may be a better fit. What are your thoughts? Please no D’Banj badgering or insults. I will not publish such comments.

By the way, if you are wondering what D’Banj is up to, watch the interview right after the music video with Cool FM’s Dotun.

You warned against insults, and when a beautiful woman tells me to not do something, I usually listen.

Truth be told, I actually rather enjoyed the original version of the song that leaked last year. To me, it sounded better when Dapo dropped his verse last and the beat changed up a bit. he was a guest on the record, but he seemed like the guest-of-honor, which is quite a feat considering Elba’s star-power. My only issue with the man is his pride in mediocre material. Believe me–I want him to be great. However, he’s not yet there. My harsh criticism is intended to motivate him to do better, since he goes around the world purporting to represent the best that Africa has to offer in entertainment.

        1. 🙂 Harsh criticism is fine. People have different styles and they don’t have to sugar coat the truth to make us feel good. However, where insults come into play i.e. name calling, personal attacks then “no” for me o. Thanks for the comment.
