Did Publicist to the Stars Egor Efiok Really Write this About D’Banj Over his Split with Don Jazzy?

Share

I am having a hard time believing blogs and also Nigeriafilms.com which has the story published under Egor Efiok’s name that she wrote the statement below. Efiok is a publicist to some of the many prominent names in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, particularly Nollywood. This seems to be very petty and immature. I don’t believe she did and have reached out to verify this. It makes no sense professionally why a Publicist will make the issues between two ex-friends and business owners her own. The bolded lines below really bother me. -Uduak

“I think Tonto is okay on her own, so this isn’t about her. I have disliked D’banj since he stabbed his true friend, Don Jazzy, in the back. He’s also very arrogant, while Don Jazzy on the other hand, is extremely humble. D’banj signing on Tonto and adding the corny ‘Lee’ after all their names is reminiscent of the talented Mavin group and the ‘Doro’ prefixes to their names; albeit a poor copycat version. D’banj should be ashamed of himself.

He abandoned Don Jazzy for Kanye and after the latter dumped him, he came back to Nigeria with his tail between his legs. He wasn’t even invited to their wedding. D’banj has been doling out crap since he left Don Jazzy and even spoilt Iyanya’s Kukere with his nonsense remix. D’banj should stick to being a businessman and stop copying Don Jazzy. If he clips his ego and goes back to beg IDJA, I’m sure he’d take him back cos he has a good heart. #TeamDonJazzy #TeamMavin”

UPDATE: Egor Efiok’s Statement

“Hi Uduak,

No I didn’t write the story. I gave my opinion about the song to a journalist that asked me what I thought of it. I don’t like D’banj and I don’t like the song. I don’t understand why people can’t be entitled to their opinions. I won’t kiss arse to please others. That was my answer to an interview.”
