Dear Filmmakers,

The inaugural edition of Colours of the Nile International Film Festival (CNIFF) was a huge success! We are happy to announce the call for entry for the 2nd edition of CNIFF taking place 5 – 9 February 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Submission for screening and competitions of all categories is now open with deadline for entry set on the 15th of November 2013. Reinforcing the theme of the 50thanniversary of the OAU/AU and highlighting the power of cinema towards achieving African Renaissance by inspiring, educating and promoting brotherhood, understanding and freedom of expression, CNIFF’s theme for the 2nd edition is set on African Renaissance.

We look forward to receiving your submissions for the different categories of CNIFF competitions. The competition categories for this year are feature length fiction films, short fiction films, feature length documentaries and short documentaries. Competitions are judged by an international jury consisting of African filmmakers and leading industry professionals. Out of competition; CNIFF will spotlight South African Films in its Africa Special Section and films from other continents in the World Cinema Corner. Please review the entry rules and guidelines as well as the official submission form.

CNIFF is organized by the Blue Nile Film and Television Academy and the Ethiopian Filmmakers Association. We hope to present a unique event in African filmmaking and exhibition, and it is with great pleasure that we announce the continental wide call for entry for the festival’s film competitions and out of competition Screenings.
