Congratulations to Storm 360 Executive Obi Asika who will be speaking at the SXSW Music & Media Conference. The SXSW conference is one of the largest, if not the largest, music, film and interactive media conference held in the USA annually. Over 400,000 people descend on the city of Austin, Texas, every March, and it is good times. It is also a great place for excellent networking. I had the opportunity to be an invited speaker in 2008 to the conference as a speaker and I can definitely tell you all it a place you want to be. This year, I know conference organizers discussed having P-Square perform there. I wonder if any Nigerian artists will be performing this year.
Also congrats to Obi’s Storm 360 artists Naeto C and J-Martins who, a little while ago today, scooped up awards at the Channel O Music Awards. In addition, Storm 360 just signed a deal with Spinlet, a digital music distributor. Over the years, from a keen observer standpoint, I have seen many changes at Storm 360. I certainly look forward to seeing a positive, vibrant and driven direction with the entrance of Spinlet into the Storm 360 mix.
If you have never heard about Obi Asika or you are looking to find more info. about him, read an interview my magazine, Ladybrille, conducted with him in January 2011 here.
