God has been good to me. As the year ends, there are so many songs to praise him for his goodness and mercy but ‘IGWE’ tops my list of the best Nigerian songs that captures and communicates all I would say but can’t quite express in terms of God’s goodness.
Sung mostly in the Yoruba and Igbo dialects, the song says God there is simply no King like you, no one as great and awesome, like you. Igwe means God in the Ibo language. The Ibos originate from what used to be known as the Eastern part of Nigeria but is now the “South-south.”
